#InstaWar Justin Bieber vs Selena Gomez

We all love a Twitter war amongst celebrities – however, this time it’s the photo-sharing app Instagram which takes centre stage as A-list singers and ex-partners Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez go toe to toe.

Justin Bieber and his pop star ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez butted heads this week after Bieber posted a series of photos on Instagram with his new girlfriend Sofia Richie. In a completely unsurprising and expected twist, Beliebers everywhere began throwing hate at the new couple to which Justin did not respond well, captioning one of his pictures: “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”

Time to insert a very miffed ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, into the mix, who commented: “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol… It should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love and supported you before anyone ever did.”

Of course, Bieber did not respond well to the accusation that he does not appreciate his own fans and retaliated with a sly dig and subtle hint that Gomez used him for attention, saying: “It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love… and yes I love my beliebers.”

Gomez seemed to give a cryptic response via a picture of her with her fans, writing that they were her whole world before suddenly taking down Bieber once again in the comments. According to screengrabs she said: “Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are the ones pointing the finer and the ones that were forgiving and supportive. No wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.”

WOW. Hell hath no fury like an ex-girlfriend scorned! And whilst Justin Bieber may have the most watched video on the internet, we really wouldn’t want to take on Gomez, who with 94.8 million followers is the single most followed person on Instagram… ever.
