Filled with More Than Helium

There’s also the racism, sexism and general stupidity. People don’t like Trump, as any talk show or late-night show host would have you believe. But with the president’s visit just around the corner, the people of the UK want to show their appreciation of the orange buffoon with a huge balloon.
Activist Leo Murray launched a crowd-funded campaign to fly a huge inflatable model of the worst US president wearing a nappy with a phone in hand.
He wrote:
‘Donald Trump is a big, angry baby with a fragile ego.
He’s also racist demagogue who is a danger to women, immigrants and minorities and a mortal threat to world peace and the very future of life on earth. Moral outrage is water off a duck’s back to Trump. But he really seems to hate it when people make fun of him.
So, when Trump visits the UK on Friday the 13th of July this year, we want to make sure he knows that all of Britain is looking down at him and laughing at him.’
Given the fact Trump is the most unlikable person on the planet by British standards, it smashed the target of £5,000 in a matter of days. It has so far raised £12,000.
However, the group needed mayor Sadiq Khan’s permission in order to fly the balloon over the capital and he has unfortunately informed them that this does not qualify as a ‘protest’.
Some on Twitter agreed that the excuse given is less than acceptable.
I am less than impressed by the reasoning of @SadiqKhan and co on this. I have been on PLENTY of demos, within and without Westminster, that used inflatable ordnance, so this seems highly arbitrary.
Citizens, I implore you, democracy needs you!

Hey @TrumpBabyUK , can’t you legally challenge the Mayor’s office to let it fly? Doesn’t seem legit to refuse this protest.

Hopefully it’ll fly. Or grow dust in a warehouse somewhere.
A waste of valuable resource = Helium, needed in medicine and engineering…ltd. precious gas being wasted on a narcissist who will enjoy the attention. https://t.co/WxeUNXqXTi

But while it would be amazing to have this glorious thing flying above London, we see the reasoning. If there’s one thing you don’t do to a man who has literally threatened nuclear war on Twitter, it’s annoy him on his first state visit.
Next time for sure though.
