Alexander McQueen Baffled By Royal Wedding Lawsuit

It has come to light that the legendary fashion label Alexander McQueen is being sued over Kate Middleton’s world-famous royal wedding dress which was designed by the company’s creative director, Sarah Burton.
The claim, by a British designer called Christine Kendall, comes five years after the royal wedding took place. Kendall, who is a bridal wear designer based in Hertfordshire, filed the claim against the renowned fashion label at the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court in London and claimed that the Duchess’s gown was a knock-off of one of her own designs. According to Kendall, she presented the future bride with sketches of the design prior to the wedding, and claims that they were used by Burton as inspiration for the final gown.
Kendall’s solicitor made sure to emphasize that the lawsuit does not involve the Duchess of Cambridge in any way. He said: “there is no allegation of wrongdoing against the palace.” A spokesperson for the Royal Family also commented that the Duchess herself did not see the sketches.
Kendall claims that she reached out to the fashion label about 13 months after the royal wedding regarding the issue but is only now taking it up in court.
In regards to the lawsuit, Alexander McQueen issued a statement claiming that they were “utterly baffled by this legal claim…We do not know why Ms Kendall has raised this again, but there are no ifs, buts or maybes here: this claim is ridiculous.”
