School: What you do and don’t remember

Leaving school can be a scary thought. After all, it’s a comfort zone for many students up and down the country. But while at school, we are taught so many things ranging from algebra and chemistry to pathetic fallacy and the crises of the Cold War. So, what will you really remember from school and what will you forget?

Forget: Circle Theorems

The bane of every Year 11’s life: circle theorems. If anyone actually remembered them all in the first place, they’d be forgotten as soon as they finished their GCSE maths.

Remember: Treaty of Versailles

I don’t think anyone who took GCSE history will be forgetting the terms of that damned Treaty. Or that Germany had six battleships, 100,000 men and no aircraft or tanks.

Forget: Covalent and Ionic Bonds

Non-metals and metals, strong bonds and free electrons (I have no idea if that even has anything to do with covalent and ionic bonding…) are, frankly, something I don’t mind forgetting.

Remember: KS3

Ahh, Year Seven, Eight and Nine. When life wasn’t so tough and you could actually enjoy lessons without feeling the pressure of an exam looming at the end of the year. Key Stage Three also holds memories to cherish forever.
