Review: The Quayside Bar
Share:
The Newcastle Quayside is home to many restaurants and bars, but the Quayside Weatherspoon bar is certainly one of the best.
Location: 5/5
On a summer’s day with your friends, the Quayside Bar is a lovely place to be. It is a few minutes from the Tyne Bridge, the Sage and the Millennium Bridge, all of which can be seen when sitting inside. To say it is a prime location would be an understatement.
Seating: 4/5
You can choose to sit inside our outside and your choice will probably be weather dependent. Sitting outside in the courtyard offers you fresh air and a different atmosphere to other bars and restaurants, but does not offer you any views of the quayside. Inside of the bar is considerably warmer and quieter – the perfect place to sit if you’re after a relaxing meal and a break from the hustle of the city.
Service: 4/5
If you’re after speedy service despite the number of customers then you’re at the right place. A top service tip would be to go to the small bar upstairs where there is no queue to order your food or drinks – we got served much quicker there. Staff are pleasant and will help you with whatever you need.
Quality of food: 5/5
Whether you’re after a dessert or wrap meal, the kitchen is impressive. The only regret I have is not ordering a curry as it looked divine. I would definitely recommend a slice (or two) of the salted caramel cheesecake.
Price: 4/5
It’s a bit on the pricey side depending on what you order, but that’s the norm for every Weatherspoon you go to.
