Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again

Wait, stop the presses, hold all the phones Mamma Mia is getting a sequel! With a new spin on the story, we’re going back a few years…

Yes, ladies and jellyfish Mamma Mia, the iconic (and best let’s be honest) best, musical ever made is getting another movie.  This time, set before the events of the original story, we are going back to when Sophie’s (Amanda Seyfried) mother (Meryl Streep) Donna was a youngin’ in love.

I’ve always had a soft spot for this IP. Something about it, the locations and the characters, everything is so lovely to watch. Not to mention ABBA’s timeless tunes make it worth watching just for that.

All the cast from the last movie appears from the last movie, including Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgard. Julie Walters and Christine Baranski also return, as Donna’s best friends.

It’s also teased that Donna has met an untimely death, given that they speak about her in the past tense.

I’m so damn excited, let’s do this.

Oh and Cher’s in it.
